6th edition of the biennial award dedicated to visual communication designers

AWDA – Aiap Women in Design Award is a biennial international award launched in 2012 by Aiap – Italian Association of Visual Communication Design, aimed at female graphic designers and visual communication professionals from all over the world, with the objective of researching and promoting different languages, poetics and approaches to design, as well as mapping the working conditions of female designers.
The competition is open to all individuals who identify as female, regardless of the sex assigned at birth and any transition processes, and includes three categories:
Professionals • Researchers • Students
Deadline: 15 July 2026
The projects will be evaluated and selected by an international jury that will award the 2026 AWDA Prize, three honourable mentions (one for each category) and any special mentions.
To these accolades, AWDA for RIGHTS! was added in 2023, a special prize awarded to the best project on the social themes of women's rights and female labour, and more generally on gender disparities in every field.
The official award ceremony will take place in Palermo in November 2026.
