The Master's degree

The first-level Master's degree in Photography and Editorial Design it focuses on the use of photography to narrate, analyse and enhance the territory in all its components: cultural, environmental, social and landscape, for the creation of photographic campaigns and innovative publishing projects, capable of supporting visual and scientific research on cultural heritage.

Teaching method

The Master's has an approach interdisciplinary and travelling, with modules alternating teaching and field research moments, through short workshops and intensive camps taking place between Sicily and Bologna, Reggio Emilia and Milan. Along with photographic practice, the Master's degree combines anthropology, urban planning, editorial and exhibition design, and data and archive management.

Who is it aimed at?

It is an ideal pathway if you are a photographer with an interest in visual research applied to cultural heritage and landscape, and if you come from design, art or communication faculties. It is also possible to access the Master’s degree if you do not hold a Bachelor’s degree or a First-Level Academic Diploma, subject to evaluation of your application. 

An adequate level of knowledge of Adobe software (InDesign, Photoshop) and familiarity with photographic shooting and post-production techniques are recommended.

Career opportunities

The Master's degree aims to train highly qualified professionals in the field of documentary photography, providing you with specific skills in the representation and enhancement of cultural and territorial heritage through editorial design, exhibition staging and the use of multimedia platforms.

Opportunity

The educational path includes a curricular internship that you can undertake at one of the Abadir Academy partners or at an organisation of your choice. The Master's also allows you to carry out a traineeship in Europe – on the way o postgraduate – funded by the Erasmus Programme.

Photograph

Photography, Photography for cultural heritage, Cinematography, Methodologies for archiving and preserving digital art, Photographic documentation, History of photography.

TERRITORIAL AND PLANNING REGULATIONS

Design of urban and territorial interventions, Cultural anthropology, Territorial analysis and landscape design, Enhancement of architectural and landscape heritage, Publishing design.

Costs and allowances

The total cost of the fees is €6,000, which can be paid in instalments.
The amount does not include travel expenses, which are borne by the participants.
