The Master's degree
The product is merely the shadow of a system: we need to rethink the culture of the object and design futuristic scenarios bridging the analogue and the digital. The 1st Level Master’s Degree in Strategic Design and Creative Direction – From Ford to face powder it addresses three core thematic areas: product, strategy and communication, within a system ranging from conception, production and sale to the user experience of a tangible good or intangible service.
Teaching method
The Master's degree has a strictly design-oriented approach and includes a portion of on-site design activities at the Abadir Academy headquarters in Sant’Agata Li Battiati (Catania) and a portion of online teaching. Field trips to the premises of partner companies and institutions, as well as meetings with leading figures from the worlds of design, communication and business, are also planned.
Who is it aimed at?
It is aimed at graduates and professionals with a background in Design, Communication and Marketing, Fashion, Photography, Architecture, Economics and Management Engineering.
Basic skills in Adobe software (Ai, Ps) and elements of CAD are required for access, and an admission interview must be attended.
To obtain a first-level Master’s degree, you must hold a first-level degree or academic diploma. However, the Master’s programme is also open to those who do not hold such a qualification, subject to an assessment of their application.
Career opportunities
The master's degree provides skills to undertake professional paths related to business consultancy, design-oriented managerial roles and creative directions. Specifically, the reference professional figures are: art director, creative director, strategic designer, product manager, brand manager.
Opportunity
The educational path includes a curricular internship that can be undertaken at Abadir Academy's partner companies or at an organisation of choice. The master's also offers the opportunity to undertake traineeships in Europe funded by the Erasmus Programme.
All modules of the master's programme are supervised by professionals and designed in collaboration with a series of project partners who play a strategic role in defining the briefs and understanding the local context in which the individual projects will be developed.
