Cosmogony

Cosmogony

Cosmogony is the new installation curated by the studio Giuliano Fukuda and created by ABADIR for SicilCima, a project that reflects on the theme of recycling, assembly, repetition and how objects and materials can take on new meanings.

A series of waste elements, suspended in space and supported by thin transparent threads, arranged on an invisible score to generate two large circumferences: a Sun, consisting of perforated elements and aluminum sheets, And a Moon, consisting of scraps of profiles used in the assembly of windows and doors.

In the final composition, the starting units lose their initial identity and become part of a whole which refers to another material dimension, as well as one of meaning. The natural light of the day and the artificial light of the night illuminate the two bodies, accentuating their new “cosmic” nature and projecting them into another space-time dimension.
