ABADIR returns to SaloneSatellite, the event of the Salone del Mobile dedicated to designers under 35 and design schools, which will be held in Milan from 16th to 21st April 2024.

Exposed to hall 5/7, stand D07 of Fieramilano Rho (map), a selection of projects investigating the relationship between design, humanity and nature, created by the male and female students of our Academy.

Yes Fresco The Green Fridge, a terracotta pot that acts as a zero-impact fridge, a Sartorius, an Etna lava basalt plate for induction cooking, a From Zucca to Luffa, a piece of research on natural sponges that can be obtained from a particular variety of gourd; from the projects carried out for the Paternò del Toscano Park, monumental botanical garden in Sant’Agata Li Battiati, ranging between wayfinding, branding, visual communication, product design, installations and exhibitions; to editorial publications dedicated to Etna region, to its biodiversity, its history and its textures, and much more besides.

At SaloneSatellite will also be presented Waterschool South, Sicilian spin-off of the WaterSchool: an educational project co-curated by Andrés Fredes, realised in partnership with the Dutch studio Makkink & Bey focused on’strategic importance of water as a finite resource, to generate awareness and trigger processes that stimulate cultural, academic and scientific progress for the improvement of the quality of life in the South.

Waterschool South it will involve local stakeholders to devise possible responses to Sicily's multifaceted challenges, which include issues such as desertification, growing tourism and its conscious management, wildfire prevention and the sustainable use of water resources, and will kick off with a Summer School, a seven-day immersive experience to be held in Sicily.
