Friday, October 20, 2023 at 7:00 PM from Trame di Quartiere (Via Pistone 59, Catania) the exhibition opens Let the City Speak (get the town talking): thirty young designers from all over Italy have tried to tell Catania, to give it voice and to dialogue with it through a series of poster made on paper Fedrigoni during the Summer school 2023 of the Master in Visual Communication and Art Direction edited by Studio Mut.
The power of a poster extends far beyond its aesthetic appeal. Paired with a strong message, it becomes a starting point for a conversation, a voice that guides discussion, challenges our perceptions, sparks debate, and pushes us to reflect on the world around us.

A selection of the posters was reproduced and displayed on the streets of the city in September 2023 thanks to the artist's contribution. Sandra Virlinzi: the billboards were portrayed by Martin Bonanno and his shots of street photography They are on display in the exhibition together with the original versions of the posters.
During the inauguration the film will also be screened. documentary by Mauro Maugeri on the Summer School and on the making-of of the projects.
The exhibition will remain open until November 3rd during Trame di Quartiere opening hours.
The posters were inspired by a series of meetings with some associations – including Neighborhood Plots – who operate in the neighborhoods Civita e San Berillo, from the exploration of the urban fabric, from direct contact with the residents and have been conceived and produced under the guidance of the graphic designer Thomas Kronbichler and Martin Kerschbaumer, founders in Bolzano of Studio Mut, during the workshop held from July 28th to August 2nd by Catania Island (project partner).
The result is a kaleidoscope of ideas and subjects ranging from reinterpretation of the dialect local through the typography, celebration of food and traditions as an identity trait, to the story of the people who live in working-class neighborhoods and who are its face.
